Faith Formation

St. Elizabeth offers Faith Formation classes during the school year on Sunday mornings from 10:15 AM–11:15 AM for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade, with preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation taking place in 7th and 8th grades. We will utilize the following curricula for the 2022–2023 school year:

  • Kindergarten/1st Grade (combined class) will use the 1st Grade Faith & Life textbook, published by Ignatius Press.
  • 2nd Grade/First Holy Communion will use the New St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism for First Communion.
    • Preparation for First Holy Communion and First Penance typically takes place in 2nd grade. Older children who are new to Faith Formation and who have not yet received their First Holy Communion may also be assigned to the 2nd grade class if they desire to prepare for and receive these sacraments. This is decided on a case-by-case basis.
  • Grades 3–6 use the corresponding grade textbooks of the Faith & Life series, published by Ignatius Press.
  • Confirmation I (typically composed of 7th graders) uses the Faith & Life series Grade 7 textbook.
  • Confirmation II (typically composed of 8th graders) uses the Baltimore Catechism #2.

There are two ways to register:

  • Register online by clicking here and filling out the online registration form. Please note that if you choose to register online, you will still need to submit the registration fee and child health forms to the parish office in person or by mail. The health form is available for download at the end of the online registration form.
  • Pick up a physical copy of the registration form, complete it, and submit it back to the parish office. The forms can be found at the bulletin board in the church narthex or at the parish office.

Registration fees are as follows:

1 child$50
2 children$80
3 or more children$100

INCLEMENT WEATHER AND CANCELLATION POLICY

In the case of inclement weather, Faith Formation classes will be cancelled. Cancellation notices will first be posted on the parish website (www.saintecc.org), and then an e-mail will be sent to the e-mail addresses given on each Faith Formation registration form. Cancelled class days will not be made up.

St. Elizabeth ofrece clases de Formación de Fe durante el año escolar los domingos por la mañana de 10:15 a.m. a 11:15 a.m. para niños en el kindergarten a sexto grado, y la preparación para el sacramento de la confirmación se lleva a cabo en el séptimo y octavo grado. Utilizaremos el siguiente plan de estudios para el año escolar 2022-2023:

  • Kindergarten/primer grado usará el libro de texto Fe y Vida de 1st Grade, publicado por Ignatius Press.
  • El segundo grado / la primera comunión utilizará el nuevo San José Catecismo de Baltimore para la preparación para la primera comunión.
    • La preparación para la Primera Comunión y la Primera Confesión generalmente se lleva a cabo en segundo grado. Los niños mayores que son nuevos en la Formación de Fe y que aún no han recibido su Primera Comunión también pueden ser asignados a la clase de segundo grado si desean prepararse y recibir estos sacramentos. Esto se decide caso por caso.
  • Los grados 3–6 usan los libros de texto de grado correspondientes de la serie Fe y Vida, publicados por Ignatius Press.
  • Confirmación I (típicamente compuesta de alumnos de septimo grado) usa el libro de texto de Grado 7 de la serie Fe y Vida.
  • Confirmación II (típicamente compuesto por alumnos de octavo grado) usa el Catecismo de Baltimore.

Hay dos formas de inscribirse:

  • Inscríbase en línea haciendo clic aquí y completando el formulario de inscripción en línea. Tenga en cuenta que si elige inscribirse en línea, deberá enviar la cuota de inscripción y los formularios de salud infantil a la oficina de la iglesia en persona o por correo. El formulario de salud está disponible para descargar al final del formulario de inscripción en línea.
  • Recoja una copia física del formulario de inscripción, compléte y envíelo de vuelta a la oficina de la iglesia. Los formularios se pueden encontrar en el tablón de anuncios en el nárthex de la iglesia o en la oficina de la iglesia.

PÓLIZA DE CANCELACIÓN Y CLIMA INCLEMENTE

En el caso de mal tiempo, las clases de Formación de Fe serán canceladas. Los avisos de cancelación se publicarán primero en el sitio web de la parroquia (www.saintecc.org), y luego se enviará un correo electrónico a las direcciones de correo electrónico proporcionadas en cada formulario de inscripción de Formación de Fe. Los días de clases cancelados no se recuperarán.
